The Volunteer Program is a vital asset to Redmond Fire & Rescue. We have a well-trained, committed, and dedicated volunteer group.
RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
Volunteer retention is maintained through the “rollover” of our students who exit or complete the student program but wish to remain a member of Redmond Fire & Rescue.
The application process for career-minded volunteers new to the fire service with no prior experience will only be open in June/July each year. Accepted volunteers will participate in our once yearly volunteer training academy. Next year’s volunteer application will be available on our website in June 2020. Applications are not being accepted at this time.
Previously trained volunteers or career staff can apply and be accepted throughout the year. Please only fill out this application if you have a prior fire service background.
Age: Minimum of 18 at time of appointment.
Physical Condition: Must possess and maintain the ability, endurance, and strength necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter.
Character: Must be of good character. A background check will be conducted on all candidates prior to appointment.
Oregon Driver's License: Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license and be insurable by the Fire District insurance carrier.
Drug Screen: Must pass a drug screening at time of appointment or any time after.
